Tremendous cuts in the budgets of federal agencies by the Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E.) under the leadership of tech billionaire Elon Musk continue to rattle the nation. While cutting government waste is certainly laudable, many are concerned about conflicts of interest, as well as the constitutionality and arbitrary nature of the process. There too are worries that layoffs of workers at the FAA and nuclear facilities were dangerous errors, resulting in some of them quickly being hired back. I'm not sure where all this ends or if the federal government will continue to function at this rate.
