With America's enemies believing the United States has largely set aside its role as the world's policeman, they have become more emboldened, causing and plotting war and chaos around the globe. Signals from candidate Trump that he will not defend our allies in NATO and the perception of President Biden as being too soft have heavily contributed to the aggression of Russia, China, Iran and North Korea. The latter nation is the one I am most concerned about, because in the opinion of experts, North Korea is the most likely to attack the continental US with nukes. The window of time we had to prevent them from developing nuclear weapons that could reach the U.S. has passed, which has been a strategic and diplomatic failure.
As a side note, I am disappointed that our government hasn't been taking more steps to prepare Americans for cyber attacks and infrastructure sabotage, given the very real threats outlined recently to Congress. To think that prior to 9/11, one could just walk right into a plane cockpit is absolutely crazy, but such was the case. Similarly, individuals and communities are not being guided to become more self sufficient in case of attacks on national infrastructure.
