As the Israel-Hamas conflict rages on, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's forces, squandering public sympathy, continue an excessive military response. The UN and many around the world are objecting to rising casualties inflicted by the IDF, mostly on innocent Gazan civilians, disregarded as "collateral damage." Both sides have rejected the idea of a two-state solution, which is discouraging. This inflexibility and tribalism belongs to another millennium, let alone another century.
