Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley recently appeared to be stumped by a question at an event. The simple question: what caused the American Civil War? She appeared uncomfortable and initially unwilling to clearly state "slavery" as the answer. Any third-grader would know that, so why not Haley? As fellow candidate Chris Christie points out, it isn't because she is stupid, but because she wants to shamelessly appeal to southern voters with racist sentiments.
