Florida governor Ron DeSantis recently sent Venezuelan asylum seekers to Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts as a political stunt without informing them of their destination. This exploitation of migrants and treating them like cattle has angered many Americans, originally intended as red meat for his base in hopes of a 2024 presidential run. The stunt may have backfired though, with a lawsuit being filed and his poll numbers falling in the governor's race, which is well deserved.
