The death of Queen Elizabeth II has proven the worth of the role of the British monarchy as a global goodwill ambassador. That there is an non-political figurehead the UK and to another extent, the world, can unite in support of is a positive thing. Prime ministers and presidents with conflicting agendas come and go, and their presences are indeed felt for a while.
