Coronavirus cases and hospitalizations have spiked following the holidays and the emergence of the Omicron variant. The absolute majority of people occupying hospitals with covid were unvaccinated. Now everyone else with serious, life-threatening health issues they could not have prevented are being delayed & denied care in favor of people whose illness could have been prevented had they not rejected the medical community's warnings...that is ethically problematic. People going to ER's with heart attacks, injuries from car accidents and other emergencies are failing to get life-saving treatment in time because of the present situation and the questionable priorities of health care systems.
