The Delta variant of Covid-19 is expected to be overtaken by the Omicron variant soon. Early reports from South African doctors where it originated suggest that it causes mild symptoms, but is transmitted more rapidly. I don't see a quick end to the coronavirus, as I don't believe governments have a handle on it and have given mixed messages, diminishing public confidence and cooperation with mitigation efforts. For instance, many people are confused as to whether vaccinated people need to continue wearing masks in certain situations - vaccinated people are still getting covid, casting doubts on vaccines. Each nation has its own approach, and all it takes is for one nation to fail to manage a dangerous variant and it spreads globally. So...expect this thing to be around for a while or become like the flu.
