Record high temperatures have been recorded recently in the Pacific Northwest, causing hundreds of deaths and straining the power grid there. It's an ominous example of what's to come in terms of climate change's havoc. We may eventually have little choice but to use controversial solar geoengineering: spraying particles that reflect the sunlight into the stratosphere. It has risks but it may end up being the lesser of two evils...scientists certainly need to study it more.
