Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was recently found guilty of murder and manslaughter in the death of George Floyd. Given the footage of the arrest and abuse of Floyd, it isn't surprising that it was an open and shut case and conviction. Hopefully, it will set in motion institutional changes in our society with regards to systemic racism and the culture within law enforcement of shielding their own from justice for police brutality.
