If you're the sort of person who loves planning events and gets easily frustrated when they don't go through, 2020 is not the year for you. A surge of coronavirus cases that have pushed many hospitals over capacity has again prompted the CDC to advise people against extended holiday gatherings, and in some countries, there are nationwide lockdowns. Thankfully, vaccines for covid-19 are starting to roll out and it looks like next winter things should improve. The most comforting words I can give right now: if you don't see a loved one in person for the holidays this year, it's probably better than never seeing them alive again for the holidays.
