To quote President Trump, who intends to become the permanent resident of the White House, whether the public likes it or not he intends to "get rid of the ballots" and if he loses, "there will be no transfer." Those are direct quotes and chilling words...if he does it would mark an end to our democracy, at least at the federal level. I would advise Biden voters to vote in-person, as his plan is to invalidate and toss out mail-in votes with Republican assistance. Those who are planning to vote for Trump need to ask themselves if they are "supporters" or "cult followers" who blindly submit to and enable a would-be dictator. History just might not judge you well.
Part 2 of this unraveling tragedy will go something like this: once the mail-in ballots are counted and Biden is shown to be the winner, Trump will endlessly dispute it and refuse to leave. Democrats will start protesting and clashing with police. Trump will then invoke the Insurrection Act and attempt to turn the military on the protesters. The conflict could escalate at that point into the nightmare scenario of a civil war. Let's hope cooler heads prevail, though Americans have shown in the past year most of them do not "listen to their better angels."
