Innovator Elon Musk is developing a device that would essentially let people control computers and devices via telepathy called Neuralink. It would be implanted in someone's brain and connected to a computer, which is fairly creepy in and of itself. Musk believes that human "cyborgs" as it were could provide some sort of defense against artificial intelligence. So far, it's been met with little skepticism and concern, despite possibilities of it causing brain damage or becoming weaponized and used by authoritarian governments. Which begs the question: does humanity care about its own humanity?
