President Trump has heated up the trade war with China, raising tariffs on $200 billion in Chinese goods from 10% to 25%. Up until now, the economy has done pretty well under the Trump administration, but many economists believe that a prolonged trade war is more likely to cause a recession than to send tons of jobs back to the United States. I am hoping some of Trump's advisors and allies push him to step back from the brink and rethink his China strategy or at the very least, to water it down some.
