After years of lobbying for the upgrade, Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore is officially going to become a national park. The effort had rare bi-partisan support and was signed into legislation by the president along with the recent bill involving the U.S.-Mexico border wall. Hoosier lawmakers are optimistic that this development will boost tourism to the state. I personally think the upgrade is long overdue, and if you've ever visited any part of the vast 15,000 acre area along Lake Michigan, you would probably agree. If only politicians could agree on other issues....
