As Nero fiddled while Rome burned, so Trump fiddled while California burned. The president tried to blame the historically destructive wildfires north of Sacramento on poor forest management, threatening to cut federal funding to the state. Logically that would make no sense, in that there would be fewer people available to rake more of the forest floors as Trump prescribed, since there would be fewer paid workers to do so. Meanwhile, the administration continues to do nothing to act early enough to diminish the harmful effects of man-made climate change due to its lack of foresight and respect for future generations. Chief among those effects are guess what? Forest fires.
