Technology continuously outpaces humanity's moral progress. The latest example is the abuse of 3-D printers to produce home-made handguns, potentially making it impossible to keep such weapons out of the hands of kids, criminals and terrorists unless the law can catch up with it. Thankfully politicians are working to do just that, and let's hope they succeed. I feel that technological progress has broadly surpassed the threshold of being useful and is instead causing unnecessary problems in the quest for unnecessary solutions. How much lazier do we need to be, and is it even healthy? Also, with developments like self-driving vehicles and app-driven grocery checkout, how many more people need to be put out of work (ex. trucking and retail) in the name of technological efficiency, and where does that leave us? I realize there's no stopping progress, but I am guessing that stopping point will probably be after most people realize it too late.
