The U.S. is being led unwillingly by President Trump into a number of unnecessary and frivolous trade wars with friendly nations, alienating America from its allies abroad. He has been arguing with our closest ally, Canada over tariffs on steel and aluminum, even making a ridiculously offensive and historically incorrect suggestion that Canadians burnt the White House in the War of 1812. Most Americans are not on the same page as Trump when it comes to his economic isolationism. He is appearing to be on a personal crusade to turn the United States into a pariah on the world stage. At the G-7 summit he also suggested Russian President Vladimir Putin should be in attendance as well, shrugging off the seriousness of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Anyone who does the math should conclude that the office of the presidency has probably been compromised by Russia.
