Trump's nominee for CIA Director Gina Haspel is being held with suspicious for having participated and overseen torture at a CIA blacksite in Thailand back in 2002 and destroying evidence as well. Ever since 9/11, America has had to ask itself what kind of country it wants to be - one with humane, noble standards to set as an example for the rest of the world or to be just another corrupt, unscrupulous nation that caves into its fears whenever it is convenient. Haspel has won over some by stating she no longer supports torture, but you can't blame her critics for being skeptical as to whether she would secretly continue down that path if confirmed.
