Indiana is setting a good example for other states when it comes to addressing the issue of unwanted pregnancies with the institution of "save haven" baby boxes. During the past year, two newborns have been discovered in one of the climate-controlled boxes installed at a Michigan City fire station. I was surprised to find out that baby boxes were a new concept that hasn't caught on yet. Knowing that the alternatives are often tragic, it's inexcusable for other states not to follow suit with the idea.
