There is an old saying, "just because you are able to do something doesn't mean you should do it." While few of us parents would say no to having hereditary diseases removed from our infants' genetic makeup, as scientists are now discovering they are able to do, it does open up a Pandora's Box of ethical concerns. Scientists playing God could create cruel economic inequalities or in places like China, be misused for nefarious purposes or forced onto populations. Elsewhere in this brave new world, there are those who actually want to implant chips with knowledge into people to sidestep education. To this I say, "don't be so open-minded your brain falls out of your head."
