Former Indiana Governor and Senator Evan Bayh is throwing his hat in the race once again for state senator after a self-imposed hiatus from politics. During those years he has lived in two houses in Washington, D.C. working in the private sector. Bayh has nominally kept a condo in Indianapolis he doesn't seem to have occupied, leading him to be labeled an "inactive voter" twice in 2014. It also didn't help matters that he couldn't correctly state his Indiana address in a recent interview. His Republican challenger Rep. Todd Young has seized upon this as a reason Bayh should be removed from the ballot. I am guessing that his resume as governor and state senator will ultimately "trump" (if you'll excuse the expression) these concerns; and if that is the worst Young can throw at Bayh, he'll need to keep looking. Currently Young trails Bayh by 7 points in the polls, and unless the former governor gets into a scandal that is on the level of Hillary Clinton or says something as offensive as Donald Trump, those numbers probably will not change significantly.
