This election season, the candidates with the most idealistic, ambitious, and yes, unrealistic positions have gained the most traction-Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump are two prime examples. Trump believes he can successfully deport all illegal immigrants and construct a border wall funded by Mexico... not going to happen. On the left, Bernie Sanders believes that the U.S. needs to make huge defense cuts to fund domestic programs. I believe we SHOULD too... but we CAN'T, in light of increased aggression by ISIS and Russia. Too turn isolationist at a time like this is what the U.S. did prior to World War II, and we know how that worked out for us.
