News headlines detailing the deadly antics of Isis and semi-affiliated
terrorist groups have been replaced in recent days with outrage over
"Deflate-gate", or the purported deflating of footballs by the New England
Patriots, in effort to more easily win games. Underinflated footballs are easier
to grip and it is believed helped the Patriots gain a win over the Indianapolis
Colts in the AFC Championship. While I would agree this is controversial, it's
also just another example of how the media elevates the trivial (sports,
entertainment, celebrities) to a level it honestly doesn't merit.
