This April has seen a maelstrom of crises, ranging from threats emanating from North Korea to terrorist incidents at the Boston Marathon and in Washington (with ricin-tainted letters being sent to the President and to Congress), to a massive fertilizer plant explosion in Texas, to Syria reportedly using chemical weapons on its people, a "red line" for U.S. military involvement. At first, I speculated the Boston bombing, the ricin letters, and even the plant explosion were related. It turns out the Texas incident was an accident, the ricin the work of someone trying to frame an Elvis imitator, and the Boston bombing the work of two men whose names are unpronounceable and do not deserve to be remembered anyway.
