There has been a rift in the
Indiana Republican Party over a proposed 10%
income tax cut and the state budget; more
specifically between Governor Mike Pence and House
Speaker Brian Bosma, R-Indianapolis. Bosma has
signaled that the money would be better spent on
roads, bridges, schools, and debt, and that
taxpayers would save money in the long run.
Enter Koch brothers-funded Americans For
Prosperity's advertising campaign, attacking Bosma and other House Republicans for not
walking lockstep with the governor.
I say that in some cases, tax cuts can become a
gimmick that can lead to deficits and crumbling
infrastructure in the long run. Call me a
"socialistic, tax and spend liberal" - or
simply responsible.
