It's a shame GOP voters keep brushing aside decent candidates like Pawlenty, Huntsman, or even Romney in favor of whoever makes news with the most controversial, angry soundbites.
The angriest, most extreme candidates are usually not the wisest, and are typically the most dangerous. For instance, one who denies the reality of man-made global warming would vastly accelerate the planet's destruction by gutting the EPA. One who feels Evolution is incompatible with Creationism would try to remove it from school curriculum (as an aside, I don't believe that they are incompatible). One who thinks Social Security a Ponzi scheme would try replacing it with a casino-like retirement fund to be gambled away in the stock market (How is your 401(k) doing these days?). Not to mention talking like he's gonna' round up some good ol' boys and hang Ben Bernanke from the highest tree in Texas...
