Despite last-minute legislation avoiding a default on the nation's debt limit, the nation's AAA credit was downgraded by Standard & Poor's, indicating a lack in confidence in this country's ability to pay back its debts. I think both the president and people on both sides of the aisle in congress had a hand in irresponsibly putting the vote off to the very last minute - some ideological purists did so purposefully. To me, that is totally irresponsible, dysfunctional, and an indication of a broken two-party system that is itself circling the drain.
