It appears that long-shots for the GOP nomination like Gingrich and yes, Donald Trump, are falling back on old, unfounded, xenophobic, and in their case, phony concerns about president Obama's citizenship. I say phony concerns, because both men plainly know better.
Frontrunners in GOP polls like Pawlenty and Romney don't bother with "Birther" mythology as part of their platforms and have pretty much put that issue to rest. Let's hope one of them gets the Republican nomination for the sake of sanity prevailing in the national dialogue.
